I decided to create a series to talk about all the samples I am trying out. I am a sample freak. I would buy something just because they give out good samples. So why not share? I am trying to put at least 10 samples in one post - skin care and makeup, and I will try to make the reviews short(I am trying!).
1. Algenist Overnight Restorative Cream - Full size: $90I/2 oz
I use this as night cream. It doesn't have any smell. The texture is thick, but once applying on my face, it doesn't feel heavy or oily. I do see a difference after about two weeks of using. My skin feels smoother, but I don't see a difference of reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Maybe I need to use this a little bit longer? This is a pricy night cream, I don't think I will purchase. Plus the sample is like 0.5 oz. It will last me a long time.
2. Korres Quercetin & Oak Age-reversing Primer - Full size: $33/1.01 oz
I love the fresh orangy smell of this primer. Since I only have a small sample, I don't know if this thing really helps with aging, but it does hydrate my skin so well. A little bit goes a long way, I only need to use less than a nickle size for my whole face. I never paid attention on this brand before, I would love to try more Korres stuff. I will purchase this once I run out my face primer.
3. L'Occitane Hand cream Shea Butter - Full size: $10/1 oz
Feel like a lot of people are into this hand cream...I tried Fleur Cherie which is the orange tube. It smells so strong and doesn't moisturize my skin at all. I thought the original one would be better. No... not really. The smell is a little bit pleasant but it doesn't do anything to my hands! It may only moisturize when I first apply on my hands(yea...for like 10 seconds.). I will not purchase.
4. Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35 light - Full size: $39/10 fl.oz
This is the first western BB cream(high end) I tried. I am impressed! I love how this hydrates my skin and makes my face glow. But my question is, what is the difference between this and a tinted moisturizer? I can use this just like a tinted moisturizer.
The color matches me very well. It doesn't have any coverage - maybe only a tiny little bit. It lasts about four to five hours by itself, so I used powder on top to make it last longer. It blends easy and a little bit goes a long way. I may not buy the full size just because it is pricy and I just like foundation better.
5. Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer Full size: $42/1 oz
This thing has a really strong, nasty smell that I couldn't even handle. It smells like high school chemical lab. It does the job, but I don't even care. Since I am not paying $42 to put something smells like this on my face.
6. Sephora Instant Moisturizer Full size: $20/1.69oz
This is the first Sephora skin care I tried. I really like it. It does the job. The texture is on the thick side but it is light weight and absorb really quickly. The price is reasonable. I will get a full size one when I run out of my current one.
7. Too Faced Primed & Poreless SPF 20 Bronze Tint Skin Smoothing Face Primer
It makes my face look greasy. I don't quite understand the point of making your face tan without the rest of your body been pale. I would rather do a lighter foundation/primer and bronze my face. The color is too orangey. I will pass.
8.Kinerase Restructure Firming Cream Full size: $98/1.7fl oz
I don't think the sample size is big enough for tasting out something like firming the skin. It smells like peanut oil(which I hate...), and doesn't really do anything. Will not repurchase.
9. Murad Time Release Retinol Concentrate for Deep Wrinkles Full size: $65/0.5 oz
I used this under my eyes. It is too thick and quite heavy, but I did see a slight difference. Then I tried with my fine line, and I don't see any differences. I guess it takes time. Again, anti-aging stuff really takes time to work. I don't think sample sized product can really show the result.
10. Estée Lauder 'DayWear' Anti-Oxidant BB Crème SPF 35 Full size: $38/1 oz
This is really light weight. It almost looks like nothing on my skin. This one doesn't have any coverage. So Why do I need this...? It is good for those perfect skin people that just want something on their skin. I will not purchase.
So what's your thoughts on these products? Do you want me to do more posts like this one?
