Giorgio Armani 'Eyes to Kill' Intense Waterproof Eyeshadow 24 Smokey Copper/ 29 Rose Tinanium

I know what I said before that I didn't like those 'Eyes to Kill' Intense Waterproof Eyeshadow. They swatch beautifully but not as pigmented as the swatches, so hard to layer on another color, and they gave me so much fallout...but when I saw the swatches for these two colors, I told myself I had to give those thing a second chance! So I picked them up...

Giorgio Armani 'Eyes to Kill' Intense Waterproof Eyeshadow 24 Smokey Copper - Golden Copper Black - 4g/0.14 oz/$32
This color is really unique. I don't think I have anything that is close to this color. The texture is soft and creamy. I love this color because it barely has any fallout! I don't know if they improved the formula or not, but I can definitely tell the difference between the old ones and the new ones I just got. The color is really intense when swatch, but it doesn't look as intense when applying on the eye lids. I tried different primer, or sticky base, but I still need to apply at least three layers to make the color true to the pan.

Giorgio Armani 'Eyes to Kill' Intense Waterproof Eyeshadow 29 Rose Tinanium - White Shimmery Pink - 4g/0.14 oz/$32
I was going to return this color because it doesn't look too special when swatch. I wanted this color because it looked pretty in the pan... But when I applied on my inner corner, it looks so different! the hint of pink looks so natural and it really brightens my inner corner. I tried to use as a all over lid color, but it doesn't look too special and the pink color doesn't show up . I don't have any problem with staying power. The texture is silky. I don't recommend this color if you already have some awesome inner corner colors.

Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundation 12-hour with Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Light

I bought the Tarte set(Tarte Perfect & Treat 6-piece High Performance Collection) from QVC a couple weeks(?) ago. I don't normally shop there...because I hate paying tax and shipping! But I really want to try some Tarte stuff, and this is a really good deal(I believe the set was $49 now is $59, I got a special deal on this)! I want to review the whole set, but mainly talk about the foundation.

Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundation - Light(30ml - 1.0 fl.oz - $42)
This is a ok foundation.
The color is yellow based, which is good for most of people. I didn't have too much trouble picking out the color because on the website there were only four or five shades. But I just checked Ulta, they have 10 shades available now. For reference, I am MAC NW20 .
The texture is not too liquid-y. But once applying on my face, it gets a little bit runny. This foundation leaves a nice glow/dewy finish instead of shimmer or sparkle. I have dry skin so normally I love dewy finish foundation instead of matte finish. But the problem is...after several hours of wearing, the dry areas on my face tend to get flaky. I tried different moisturizer + primer combos, but I still got the same result! Normally, liquid foundations don't get flaky on my face...So if you have dry skin, you may want to get a sample to try this one out first.
I tried applying this foundation with sponge, but it didn't work out very well. It makes my face even dryer. Another thing is when I use a sponge, my face feel burnt! It lasts about 5-10 seconds, then I feel normal again. But when I switch to a regular foundation brush, it doesn't give me these two problems like the sponge did. I use three to four pump for the whole face.

- Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundation -

There are some other stuff that came with the set.

This set includes:
Maracuja Miracle 12-hour Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in choice of fair, light, medium, tan, and deep

100% pure Maracuja Oil rollerball - exclusive to QVC until 1/31/13 - 0.60 fl oz
The texcture is not oily at all, but it does leave a shine on the face.I don't quite understand this product because it says applying around the eye area and the dry area, I suppose this step is before moisturizer? I use it under moisturizer, anyway. Since I only used for a little while, I can't say if it works on me or not. I have sensitive skin, this thing doesn't burn my face or anything.

LipSurgence Lip Shine in smitten soft pink with built-in sharpener - exclusive to QVC until 1/31/13 - 0.10 oz
Really nice color. I think it looks good on all skin tone. It applies smoothy. The problem is this lip stick doesn't last too long on my lips. It comes with a sharpener so I don't have to worry about where to find the right sharpener.

Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara - black - 0.24 fl oz
Average mascara. Doesn't hold the curl, but does the basic job.

modernEYES waterproof creaseless shadow/liner duo - Plumberry/Plum brown - Pinkish Plum/Deep Purple Brown - 0.017 oz/0.005 oz - exclusive to QVC until 1/31/13
I love this! The color is really nice and pigmented. They don't move anywhere after applying. The colors are super waterproof... I can only get them off by using eye makeup remover.

Retoucher bamboo foundation brush
Average brush. It is cute and very well made. A little bit prickly when I use it but not too bad. It doesn't lose the shape after washing.I use to apply blush. It doesn't work well for foundation.

I forgot to mention, this is a eye cream sample that comes with it. I haven't used it, and it doesn't mention on the website either.

NARS Joie De Vivre All About Cheek Palette

So far, Nars came out two "All About Cheek Palette"(Danmari's review is Here). I like the idea of putting six shades together.I really do! This way I don't feel like wasting too much money on something that I can never use up.

This palette contain 6 shades - Albatross, Gaiety, Luster, Laguna, Orgasm(Again!!!), and Angelika. Six shades contain 3.5g *6(0.12 oz * 6 - $65) product. Each shade is little bit smaller than the individual packaging ones, but I know I can never use them up anyway(I am trying tho!).

Albatross - Golden sheen
This color is good for highlighting or layering on top of blushes. The texture is soft, but for some reason I found it is hard to blend. I have to use a brush like MAC 168 to blend this color out. I like this color more than the hungry heart duo(II)... It just looks a lot nicer on my skin tone.
I have a dope for this color. It is not a highlighter...... It is an eyeshadow from Revlon. It's the Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Eye Shadow in 515 Adventurous(Picture below - on the right) - the color on the top left. I have been using that color for highlighting for quite a while. I don't like how it's turned out on my eyes, but it is definitely a nice highlighter. The texture is a lot softer, and it doesn't make my pore look as obvious as the Albatross.

- Albatross - Adventurous -

Gaiety - Bright Candy Pink
This is a lighter, less brighter version of Nars Desire. They both contain shimmer. But after applying on the face, I couldn't see any shimmer. Gaiety is pigmented, but not like a crazy bright pink color after applying. It looks natural even after two layers.

Luster - Sheer Golden Apricot
This color is not sheer at all... It is pigmented! It looks ok on my skintone but I think it would look a lot better on warmer, darker skintone. It looks more just a healthy glow on my cheeks. I like this color, but I don't use it often.

Laguna - Brown with golden shimmer
I use to love this color, but not any more. Simply because it is too shimmery. I don't care if a bronzer has shimmer in it, but this one is just a little bit too much for me. What I like to do is using it as a blush. On me, it looks nicer than Luster.

Orgasm - Peachy Pink with Golden Shimmer
Yeah...again. I understand this is Nars' best selling blush, but I feel like if some one wants to buy NARS blushes, she(or he LOL) would already have this color! I am just kinda sick of looking at this color in a new palette over and over. I know another new Nars cheek palette for Sephora even has this color in it, too! I feel like they should put those less popular color in the palette, so more people can buy them without worrying about having the same color.

Angelika - Cotton Candy Pink
This color is so glittery! I have this color on the other day. By the end of the day when I took off my makeup, the glitters were still there. This color is really powdery, so it is easy to over apply. I like this color for a daytime look, even it has glitter in it because I just feel like using a matte color every day is a bit boring.

- Albatross - Gaiety - Luster - Laguna - Orgasm - Angelika -

Overall this is a nice palette. If you don't have many NARS blushes(especially Orgasm... ), this is the best way to collect them instead of buying them individually. The quality is as the same as the individual ones. I feel like NARS will continue coming out these kind of palettes, so I have already quite buying the individual ones. But...Who knows?

M·A·C 'Illustrated - Smoky Eye Black' Kit by Julie Verhoeven

I have 100 followers on my blog now. Thank you soooo much for following me, everyone:) I have been blogging a little bit over a year now, and I learnt a lot about make up! Also, I discovered a lot of good blogs :)
Should I do a give away? I know I will be busy soon... My due date is August 4th, and we are moving into our new house on August 17th (I hope)... Maybe I should wait a little bit, but trust me, I will do one ASAP!

Ok, back to makeup. I got this set from Nordstrom anniversary sale. Never tried any sets from MAC because normally I don't like their packaging. I got this because there are two eyeshadows I wanted to try out - Naked Lunch, and Carbon.

It comes with:
3 eyeshdaows(1.5g - 0.05 oz/each): Naked Lunch(F)/ Wedge(M)/ Carbon(M)
2 brushes(made in China): 212SE, 275SE
1 Technakohl liner(0.35g - 0.012 oz): Graphblack
1 Zoomlash Mascara(4g - 0.14 oz): Zoomblack

Naked Lunch(F) - Light, Shimmery Peachy Pink
I love this color. It is perfect for everyday usage. I used this for blending out a smokey eye or highlighting my browbone for a natural look, but I think for some people this color is too shimmery for highlighting. The color appears more on the white side on my skin tone instead of peachy color. The texture is creamy enough to layer on top of another color.
Wedge(M) - Warm Brown
This color is too light for me as a crease color. The texture is not too creamy which makes it a little bit hard to blend. I think this color would work better for light or even fair skintone.
Carbon(M) - Black
I am quite disappointed with this color! The texture is so hard that I can hardly pick up any color, and the pigmentation is not that great, either. Since a lot of people love this color so much, I think maybe I just got a bad one? Or some people say the quality of a set normally not as good as the individual product.

212SE - Flat Definer Brush
I don't have the regular size, but this brush definitely does the job.
275SE - Medium Angled Shading Brush
A little bit big for blending, but good for applying the colors.

Technakohl liner
The texture is more on the drier side, so it doesn't smudge on me. The good thing is I don't have to sharpen it all the time, but at the same tine it contains less product than a regular eyeliner. I don't think I would buy it again.

Zoomlash Mascara
Sadly this is another mascara that doesn't do anything to my short hard lashes... It doesn't hold the curl at all! It does give me a little bit volume, but that's it...

Overall it is a ok set for MAC "starters" to try out. I wouldn't recommend this to someone who has a huge MAC collection. I forgot to mention the packaging is not made by paper. The inside bottom part(I am not talking about the mirror) is actually plastic, which is nice. I don't like when I buy kinda pricy makeup, they come with a cheap paper box even through they might be really pretty.

Trish McEvoy Birthday Makeup Planner Collection Watercolors

I have never tried their products before. Since they had 20% off last week, I took advantage of it. I was going to get some brushes but they were not 20% off. So I decided to try some of their makeup. I looked up some reviews of some products from this set online, but I couldn't find any(that is a sign!). I still decided to get it just because it it so cute looking from the website. They are not available any more because it is a limited edition, but I think you can still buy individual products.

It comes with a lot of stuff...
Petite Makeup Planner
Effortless Eyes™ Watercolors Wet & Dry Eye Shadow Lilac
Golden Face Color Trio
Eye Base Essentials
Intense Gel Eye LinerFlawless Lip® Color
High Volume Mascara

Trish McEvoy Birthday Makeup Planner Collection Watercolors - $125
I hate posting negative reviews! But I have to say this set is a joke! The eyeshadows are not pigmented at all! I guess that's why they call "watercolors"? Are you kidding me?! It says "handmade in Italy......" emmmmm... I tried the purple color. I literary apply about ten layers try to make the color show up. But no, just a bunch of glitters with a tint of purple.
The Petite Makeup Planner is cute, but it creases so easy..... and it is not very well made at all. The stitches from the inside are cheap looking and has already started coming off. I can't imagine who would pay any money for this!
Golden Face Color Trio is ok... at least I can use it. But you can see from the picture below, it is not very well made either, and... It looks like someone already ran their fingers through or something.
Eye Base Essentials is like the worst eye primer of all the ones I tried before. The texture is creamy which is good. I used this base with some strong colors on top, at the end of the day when I tried to take off my make up, those colors literary stained on my eyelid! So you call this a eye base?! LOL......
Their costumer service is THE WORST EVER!I am not brave enough to try the rest of the products, so I e-mailed them ask a refund or at least send me a new face palette(at least an explanation?). They said I can only return the whole set and I have to pay for the shipping... even though I think they give me a returned product! I e-mailed back to complain, but I didn't get any responses.I don't know what I am going to do with this... I don't want to pay money for the stupid shipping... it doesn't make any sense to me to pay more money on something like this.
I HAVE TO share my experience on my blog, to let more people aware of this company... I don't want this happen to anybody else. I heard their brushes are good, but now I am not willing to try any of their products.

Thanks for Looking!

Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow No. 03 Porcelain, No. 05 Chestnut, and No. 21 Midnight Brown

I reviewed No.22(Here) not long ago. I was amazed by the quality and I said I would buy more...so here they are. These three colors have been my everything go to color since I got them, but I keep forgetting to post a review for all these awesome colors!

Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow No. 03 Porcelain - Sheer Nude - (2.5g - 0.88oz - $29)
Even I described the color as "sheer", the color is not as sheer as you think. It is more just a sheer and creamy texture. This color is the perfect color for highlight. It has a little bit sparkle in it which can really make the brow bone pop.
Again, I can't resist the packaging......

Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow No. 21 Midnight Brown - Shimmery Brown - (2.5g - 0.88oz - $29)
Perfect color for a everyday smokey eye! It is not too dark that will overdraw the wing-out eyeliner that I always do; also not too light that make this kinda natural color too boring. The color doesn't need any primer underneath.

Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow No. 05 Chestnut - Sheer Brown - (2.5g - 0.88oz - $29)
Some kinda "sheer" with Porcelain. I use this color for a crease color. Normally I use a matte brown color, but sometimes I find it is a little bit boring. This color really is the non-boring crease color I tried so far. It blends easy. Also easy to blend with other colors.

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Professional Magic B.B. Cream Light

I am not a BB cream believer. Simply because my first beauty product was BB cream, and I had some horrible experience with it...It is an Asian brand, but I don't remember the name. I also tried some other Asian brand BB cream. Sadly, those never worked for me either. It made my face look so ashy and grey looking... literary like a zombie. At the beginning of this year, all the western brands started to come out their BB cream (I think almost all the brands have a BB cream line... I checked out Sephora, it has it's own category). First I thought they are trying to copy those Asian BB cream, but after I read some reviews about different brands, it seems like it is different. At the same time, the prices run really high compare to those Asian brands. I remember the one I got was no more than $20(maybe like $13?), but all the ones at Sephora are at least $40 something(Really?!). I don't want to blow money on something that I probably not gonna like it...so I simply chose a drugstore brand. I think Maybelline has a BB cream that just came out, but I know they had one on Asian market for a long time. I am kinda scared to try that one, so I decided to get the L'Oreal one.

It says on the packaging that BB cream actually means "Beautifying Beads"(The Asian ones mean Blemish Balm!). It is a 4 in 1 product - Primes, perfects, hydrates, and corrects. It looks so weird when I first squeezed out from the tube. It is white and liquidy. You can see those small dark beads in it(Pic below).

When blended out, it simply changed the color. But you can still see the beads(Pic below).

After a few seconds of blending, it milt into the skin without any beads left(Pic below). It feels really smooth.

Compare to MAC NW20 concealer(Pic below).

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Professional Magic B.B. Cream 812 Light - (10 fl.oz. - 30ml. - $8.95~$12)
I hate doing negative review....
When the first day I tried it, I thought it would look too red on my skintone. But when I applied on my face, it doesn't look too bad. I put on top of my moisturizer, but it seems like it couldn't blend with my moisturizer - all the dark particles start showing up on my face, kinda nasty. I tried with different moisturizer, but still got the same result. I thought maybe I should't use my fingers to blend it in...? so I tried with a foundation brush and a sponge - the result I got was a little bit better but still not what I expected. I didn't try to use it with out any moisturizer because even through the texture is liquidy, but when applying on my face, it looks dry. So...I don't recommend this to dry skin!
It is light and almost no coverage. The staying power is not bad - at least 6-8 hours. But I have another problem with it... when I took off my make up at night, I noticed my face turns redder than first applying on my face. It is pretty noticeable.
I am glad I tried this even through I don't like it.

- after two hours of applying -

Thanks for looking! Did you try this BB cream? Any thoughts on this?
